244. Warnings

At the beach at Crackington Haven - the red flags were out on Wednesday as a warning not to go into the sea. It was pretty windy and the surf was definitely up. We almost got soaked just sitting on the shore.

243. Sundown

At lovely Crackington Haven, in Cornwall, where we just spent a few days on holiday.

242. Gathering

A gathering of starlings on a telegraph wire. They almost look like musical notes.

241. Discovery

This peacock has discovered a bee amongst the heather.

240. Cool

Ready for a game of Ultimate Frisbee.

239. Common

A small tortoiseshell butterfly - a common sight on the purple buddleia bush.

238. Fun

Who doesn't enjoy jumping off stuff?

237. Identity

This was a lovely feature of the wedding - a 'finger print tree'. The beautiful image was added to by all the guests at the wedding, who printed their identities onto it, creating finger print leaves.

236. Relationship

235. Excitement

Our friends got married last weekend and what a joyous occasion it was. The ceremony was so personal to them and full of emotion - I absolutely loved that they 'jumped the broom', taking a leap of faith into their new lives as husband and wife. This is the moment just before they did - filled with excitement.

234. Isolation

One little balloon in a big sky.

233. Open

Beautiful Calendula flowers from our allotment - this one is fully open and looking stunning.

232. Monochrome

The London Eye.

231. Faces

My very lovely friends - some of whom I have known for almost 20 years. I feel very blessed to still spend fun days together with them.

230. Structure

Beautiful Tower Bridge, complete with Olympic Rings. Such a symbolic structure on our capital's river-scape.

229. Perspective

Looking down one of the piers along the Thames.

228. Sleep

In the heat on Friday, lots of people were relaxing down by the river. This guy was actually enjoying a snooze.

227. Modern

On Friday I spent the day in London with some of my school friends. Much of the day was spent on the river, enjoying the sunshine. This is Millennium Bridge in all its contemporary stylised glory: very modern.

226. Journey

B and I have just moved house - another step on our journey together. Exciting times!

225. Circular

Pretty lime.

224. Money

A collection of foreign coins, sitting in a jar in our living room.

223. Health

Vitamin C bottles lined up in a row.

222. Stapler

I was a bit stumped as to how to show this 'theme' creatively so this photo does what it says on the tin: a stapler.

221. Alone

Beautiful Lacock Abbey with my lovely B.

220. Ghostly

Before we left Lacock, B kindly offered to pose for me in some last shots around the grounds of Lacock Abbey, with a view to being able to create some images like this. The 'ghostly' effect has been created here using layers in Photoshop, but the final result is almost identical to a set of images I took, years ago, using very controlled multiple-exposures with a film camera.

Photoshop makes trying experimental techniques like this far more accessible than in previous years - but I do still love playing with film. Hopefully now that we've got moving out of the way I'll be able to use the rest of the summer holidays to shoot some analogue.

219. Outdoors

I actually took this photo a couple of weeks ago now - on the river near Wilcot, on one of those glorious sunny evenings we had. I just remembered I hadn't posted it, when I saw it again on my iPhone. I am longing for days like this again - I am getting so sick of the rain!

218. Neighbourhood

Sadly not for much longer, but for the last three years, this beautiful village has been my neighbourhood. I'll miss Lacock very much.

217. Masterpiece

Another medieval masterpiece - this beautiful stained glass window from St Oswald's Church in Ashbourne would have taken years to make, with each piece of glass being individually stained and fired, before being pieced together and held in place with lead.
