Today we visited Chester - I hadn't been for years but I quickly remembered how much I like it there, with its black-and-white Tudor buildings and Roman ruins. We were also treated to a carnivalesque parade for the Chester Midsummer Watch, which was absolutely brilliant. The colours, costumes and drums created a really dramatic atmosphere. This guy looked particularly 'evil' dressed as a red devil.
